Note: The above file is an Enigma Binary File created by Finale® Music Software. Finale Notepad® is available as a free download from finalemusic.com. This will allow you to view and listen to the tutorial samples – as well as experiment with changing them.
There is also a full-blown demo of the Finale® 2006 software available which will also view, play, and manipulate these files. Be warned, the download for this one is quite large (77.2 MB) and may take a while if you do not have a high-speed internet connection. You cannot save files with the full-blown demo; but, you can with the Finale Notepad®. The Notepad download is only 7.03 MB in size.
It should be noted that – depending on your security settings – you may encounter difficulties downloading this software because the web site wants to install tracking cookies (which are used to track your Web browsing habits for marketing purposes). If you have a firewall, you may need to turn it off and/or allow all cookies on your Web browser to be able to register with the site. After completing the registration and download, you may re-start the firewall and reset your browser to its previous security settings. You may then want to use Ad-Aware® (available for free from download.com) or a similar anti-spyware program. to clean up the junk (i.e. tracking cookies) the web site installs. Many computer experts recommend the regular use of programs like Ad-Aware® to clean up the junk (like tracking cookies and other potentially more harmful things) you pick up off the Web to help keep your system running more smoothly and free up hard-drive space
